Capability reference
Every configurable Aethor action, its default audience and the checks that still apply
A capability is Aethor’s name for one protected action. The friendly Dashboard action is what you see in the dashboard; the code-style Capability ID is what appears in diagnostics and API responses. If an error names suggestion.state.transition, this page tells you that it means changing a suggestion’s state.
Open Settings → Permissions in the dashboard to see which rule currently controls each capability on your server.
How to read the reference
The group supplies the default actor rule unless you replace it with selected roles:
- Members: any current server member.
- Moderators: a member with Manage Messages.
- Managers: a member with Manage Channels, Manage Messages and Manage Server.
The Still required column lists physical or commercial requirements that a role rule does not replace. “Aethor: …” means the bot needs those Discord permissions. “Premium” means the server’s plan must include the feature.
The server owner and Discord administrators retain actor access, but they do not bypass Aethor’s bot-permission or premium checks.

Discord's role hierarchy still applies. Aethor cannot give members a role at or above Aethor's highest role.
Moderation

Soft-ban keeps its exact Discord Ban Members default even though it appears in a moderator-level group. A selected-role rule may replace the actor permission, but never Aethor's permission or either hierarchy check.
Capabilities you cannot customize
The permission page protects itself with two fixed server capabilities. They are excluded from group and action overrides so an administrator can always recover from an overly restrictive rule.

Personal-account capabilities
These belong to the signed-in person rather than the server, so server role rules do not apply to them.

Why the dashboard is the reference for your server
This page explains the catalog shipped with this version. The dashboard reads its capability catalog from the active Aethor environment, so use it as the reference for that server. It also shows current slash-command paths, selected roles, premium status and Aethor’s missing Discord permissions. This page cannot know those live values.
